Movie Night – November 14th

Bring the whole family and join us on Friday, November 14th for Movie Night. We’ll be showing Despicable Me 2 – lots of laughs for adults and children! Food will be served in the cafeteria from 6:15p.m. Showtime for the movie is 7:00 p.m. (running time is 98 minutes). Admission is $3 or $25 for a Super Ticket (includes whole pizza, 4 drinks and admission).

As an added bonus – all ‘Super Tickets’ will automatically be entered into a raffle for a bag of treats from Trader Joe’s (suitable for your own movie night) plus a pair of movie tickets from a local theater.

Scholastic Book Fair – November 13-14th

The Book Fair is almost here! Get a head start on your holiday shopping with a great selection of books for all ages.

BOOK FAIR HOURS:

THURS NOV. 13, 8:00AM – 6:00PM

FRI NOV. 14, 8:00AM – 8:00PM

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

We need volunteers to help out at the fair! Each class will need 2 or 3 parent volunteers during their classroom visit time to help direct students to the appropriate level books, make book suggestions, and assist in determining what the child can purchase with the money that he/she has. We will also need help with cash registers, especially during the classroom visits, dismissal time and during the evening family event. Please let us know if you are available to help out for any length of time. We need at least 3 volunteers per shift. Please consider volunteering your time to work a shift at the fair:

CLASSROOM VISITS: SCHEDULE COMING SOON

Again this year, your children will have a chance to visit the Book Fair during the school day with their teacher and class. Each class will have a designated date / time to visit the Book Fair.

If you would like your child to purchase books during their visit, please send them to school with cash or a check made out to Williams PTO. Soft cover books cost $4 – $7, hardcovers $12 – $20. You may also fill out out a pre-order form and send it in with your child along with cash or check so they can buy the books that you have pre-selected. Your child can also fill out a wish list form during their visit, and you can make purchases of books with your child later in the day. Parents are also welcome to attend the book fair during their child’s classroom visit time to help their child choose books.

PRE-ORDER FORMS
Pre-order forms and the Scholastic Flyer will be sent home in your child’s folder next week. If you cannot attend the book fair, or would like your child to buy books during their classroom visit that you have pre-selected, please fill out the pre-order form and send it in with your child along with the requisite cash or check (made out to Williams PTO). Please remember to add MA sales tax of 6.25% to your total cost.

CLASSROOM WISH LIST PROGRAM
The Book Fair is a great opportunity to help update your child’s classroom library through the Classroom Wish List Program. Again this year, teachers will be given the opportunity to choose books they would like to see in the classroom libraries. Book Fair visitors will be able to pick a book from the teacher’s book selection to buy for the classroom and dedicate it with a personalized bookplate. When the fair is over, your child’s teacher will have a bag full of books for the students to enjoy!
